McCABE AND MRS MILLER

Classic Western themes are embraced by Altman only to destroy the myths of heroism in the old West. An ambitious gambler opens a bordello in a mining town at the beginning of the century, but big business intervenes. Both stars are decidedly de-glamourised in this depiction of bleak frontier life.
