WHALES OF AUGUST, THE

Two elderly sisters spend their summer in a cottage on the coast of Maine. The older sister (Davis) is blind and jealous of the attention paid to her younger sister (Gish) by a courtly Russian émigré. The plot is slender, but the pleasure is all in the playing and in the faces of these exceptional stars.
