An excellent and ahead of its time noir, where a racketeer, The Kid (Cooper), has chosen a life of crime out of love for Nan (Sidney), the daughter of a mob henchman. Eventually railroaded into prison by her crooked cohorts, Nan implores The Kid to give up this life, which culminates with The Kid and Nan being taken "for a ride" by rival gangsters.
